ICZN is proposing amendment to the Code to allow electronic publication

International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature is making "Proposed amendment of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature to expand and refine methods of publication", in the hope to allow electronic publications of new zoological names and nomenclatural acts.  The full text of the proposal is for open access: http://www.mapress.com/zootaxa/2008/f/zt01908p067.pdf This notice is published in Zootaxa under Creative Commons Attribution License” (for information
about this license, see
http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/) to make it freely available online for everyone to read, download, copy, distribute, and use (with attribution).
See also my editorial, in which I invite comments on the ICZN proposal to be published in the correspondence section of Zootaxa to help to facilitate the public discussion/debates on this important issue for zoological taxonomy.
