Research interests

Dr. K. K. Joshi
is a Senior Scientist in Marine Biodiversity Division of Central Marine
Fisheries Research Institute (Indian Council of Agricultural Research) at
Kochi, India.  

Has 20 years of
research experience on systematics, biology, stock assessment and biodiversity
of the marine finfishes of the Indian coast. Studied systematics, biology,
population parameters,biodiversity of Sharks, rays, carangids, snappers,
threadfin breams, silver bellies of the Indian coast.

Completed
research projects on biology and stock assessment of nemipterids, silver
bellies, taxonomy of carangids of India, taxonomy of threadfin breams,
croakers, flatfishes and goatfishes.

Current Research Projects

v  Bioinventorying and biodiversity valuation of marine
organisms in selected marine ecosystems along the Indian coast.

v  Assessment
of spawning behaviour of major fish species in marine environments with a view
to harness the beneficial effects of temperature
